My wedding dress!!!!!
My wedding and reception venues. I think the reception venue especially fits our retro theme.

This is fucking ridiculous!!!!
Is it open fucking season on black men???????
I have half a mind to lock up my husband for his own good.
It’s been open season on Black men ever since the slave ships first landed in Africa. Damn.
It could have been me.
A few years ago, before I bought my car, my now late mother and I used to have to ride the bus. It was about a quarter of a mile walk from the house to the bus stop. We only could afford one monthly bus pas, so my mother and I had to share it.
One day, my mother had my bus pass in my wallet. She was walking home, and I was walking to the bus stop. We met in the middle, and she handed me my wallet. She went on her way, I went on mine.
A few minutes later, two Hispanic boys on bikes yelled out, “We’re going to call the police on you!” I had no idea what they were talking about. I found out later that they had caught up to my mother and asked her if they wanted them to stop me and get “her” wallet back. They had told their grandmother and she was preparing to call the police to arrest me.
Did I mention that my mother was white? I’m biracial.
If those kids had been George Zimmerman, or someone like him, what could have happened? I might be dead right now for the crime of getting my own wallet back from my mother who had borrowed it to use my bus pass.
It could have been me. It could still be me, or my young black male cousins, or nephews, or your friend or your family member, or you. This isn’t about one isolated incident. Black men and women have been getting killed by vigilantes and lynch mobs since we first stepped off the boat. Trayvon Martin is just one of the most recent.
Trayvon is still dead, and Zimmerman is still free. We need justice for his family, and for all of us. We are ALL in danger.
What the hell is going on with The Colbert Report???
